Florida vacation report day 1 & 2

When we first got to Florida and drove over an hour to our resort, I realized that we are going to Palm Beach rather than Miami...it is a very nice town never the less. Our Marriott resort is wonderful (no picture yet) and very kid friendly, next time I know where to bring our babies.

We spend lots of time driving around looking at local Real Estate and went to a Flaglers Museum. It was highly praised in guide books so we went, here is more info about this place http://flaglermuseum.us/index.html

The 55-room, 60,000-square-foot Gilded Age mansion is huge, at the end of the tour Dragon Fighter and I were pretty weary...

Music room...
One of many, many rooms at the Whitehall...they had rose, blue, green, red, yellow roses rooms...I lost count.

I love this look as you go downstairs...

Court...great for room ventilation with fresh breeze from the ocean.

Rest of the days we are spending laying on the beach, reading books and enjoying scenery. The weather here is a little strange, in the morning there is a great sunshine and not a single cloud in the sky but come 2PM or so, tropical rain starts. It is a warm rain, so you can comfortably swim in the pool or sit in jacuzzi but I must say it is a little annoying...I probably would not get much sunburn if the weather would persist in this manner.

Dragon Fighter prefers to swim as much as he can...

And I prefer just sitting with my feet in the warm sand.

Fun at the beach..

Last week, we had a privilege of joining our friends at the beach for a few days. Unfortunately, Dragon Fighter had to stay behind due to intense work schedule while girls and I played away, enjoying beautiful coastline views of the Pacific Ocean. So being Stay-at-home-mom and not being tied to work schedule has its perks, I must say! We stayed at this resort on the 6th floor.

And now, meet the cast...Lisa (our friends daughter, she goes to the same class as Melanie, Melanie, our firstborn, Sasha (our friends daughter), and Alina, our baby-girl. And I must say that this mini-vacation was all about them. Once you have kids, your priorities change big time!

We had several activities planned with them that got repeated over the course of four days that we stayed.

Swimming time, that they got every day in the resort heated pool.

While in the pool, girls practiced their water jumping techniques.

Alina preferred shallow waters of the kiddie pool.

And Sasha often kept her company as well.

Resort also had two Jacuzzis where kids could warm up between the swimming.

Alina's thinking time.

Eating ice cream. Yes, they did have an ice cream almost every day...

Next stop is the Aquatic park..

I am not too sure if they appreciated something scary as this wolf fish.

Touch and feel pool, while girls enjoyed this activity tremendously, Alina, was not convinced to touch that starfish..

Finally with Sasha's guidance she put her had in the water.

How about some swing time with the Pacific Ocean views? You got it. We went to the swing set three to four times a day...

We kept warm at nights by the fire on the beach, eating mini sausages and marshmallows rosted in the fire.

I would not be honest if I would not say that we spend a few hours in the local mall. Kids played logos while we shopped.

On our daily stroll through Seaside Downtown ending up with kids participating in some kind of fun... One day its mini train ride..

And other day its Mary-Go-Round ride. This year Alina rode this ride all by her self, she is a big girl now!

Playing in the sand: cheap and convenient!

Girls were very proud of their matching nightgowns..

All four girls together, before going to bed, ready for a night story that Luda read to them.

Our vacation would not be complete without testing water at the ocean. We found two brave ones amongst us.

I'll say at age 7, you try lots of stuff, first you’re already brave enough and second you are not smart enough for things like riding in the rollorcoster or taking a dip in the ice cold waters of the Pacific Ocean. We just stepped back and looked as our girls were figuring out life for themselves.

But on the other hand, as they got a little too deep in the water, we pulled them out to change their clothes. Maybe they just have to wait a few more years before we are ready to let them figure out life for themselves...
